Multimedia Design Technology

 

HAVE FUN learning visual design skills required to create multimedia environments.

Multimedia Design Technology uses interactive computer elements such as graphics, text, video sound and animation to deliver a message.

Multimedia Technology encompasses interactive computer-based applications that allow people to communicate ideas and information with digital and print elements.  Multimedia Technology includes both hardware systems and software programs used to develop and run these systems.

Students learn design techniques using Multimedia Technologies to develop their own creative style and make their own works of art. Students gain the necessary skills to design and develop interactive computer materials for the public, business industries or creative self-expression.

 

Careers in Multimedia Technology

Multimedia Technology is found in industries such as marketing and advertising, and in forms such as websites, newspaper and magazines.  Anything that needs to be communicated to an audience can contain digital and print images, text or animation to attract attention and deliver the message. 

Multimedia Technology can be used by:

  1. Web developers
  2. Graphic artists
  3. Digital photographers
  4. Designers
  5. Desktop layout publishers

Medical Administrative Specialist

Learn the current technology and office procedures to prepare you for employment in today’s medical office.

 

This certificate program is designed for those students seeking entry-level positions in the medical office or those already employed in the field seeking to enhance their skills. This program prepares individuals for employment as an Information Technology Assistant, Front Desk Specialist, Medical Office Technologist, and Medical Administrative Specialist.  Students will learn to perform medical administrative duties utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures and software (Medical Manager and Medisoft).  Instruction also includes transcription of reports, such as case histories, and the use of legal and insurance forms.

 

Software:  Microsoft Office 2007, Medisoft, Medical Manager

Students must take the Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE) prior to entering the program.

Legal Administrative Assistant

This certificate program is designed for those students seeking entry-level positions in the legal field or those already employed in the field seeking to enhance their skills.  This program prepares students for employment as an Information Technology Assistant, Front Desk Specialist, Administrative Support, and Legal Administrative Specialist and to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in any of these occupations.

Software:  Microsoft Office 2007, Legal Specific software includes Abacus Law, Summation iBlase, Tabs3, CaseMap and TimeMap.

Accounting Operations

Learn the current technologies and procedures to prepare you for a career in accounting.

This certificate program is designed for those students seeking entry-level positions in the accounting field or those already employed in the field seeking to enhance their skills.  The purpose of this program is to prepare individuals to classify and record numerical data to keep financial records and ledgers and to prepare monthly statements. The following courses and course areas are taught: Information Systems; Workplace Communications; Administrative Office Procedures including Filing, Mail Handling, and Telecommunications; Accounting; Job Readiness and Career Development/Human Relations/Management/Trends and Issues/ Interpersonal Skills; Computer Applications including Operating Systems, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and accounting software.

SOFTWARE: Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel) QuickBooks, and other automated accounting software.
