Network Support Services offers a rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in network support services positions in the Information Technology career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Information Technology
The content includes but is not limited to instruction in computer literacy; software application support; basic hardware configuration and troubleshooting; networking technologies, troubleshooting, security, and administration; and customer service and human relations skills.
Network Support Services teaches networking based on technology, covering networking concepts using a top-down, theoretical, and integrated approach – from network applications to the network protocols and services provided to those applications by the lower layers of the network. Network Support Services includes the following features:
● Students learn the basics of routing, switching, and advanced technologies to prepare for Cisco CCNA certification and entry-level networking careers
● The curriculum discusses networking concepts in depth and uses language that allows for integration with engineering concepts, providing a deep, theoretical understanding of networking concepts for experienced learners with advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Courses emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and the practical application of skills
● Rich multimedia content, including Flash-based interactive activities, videos, games, and quizzes, addresses a variety of learning styles and help stimulate learning and increase knowledge retention
● Hands-on labs and Packet Tracer simulation-based learning activities help students develop critical thinking and complex problem solving skills
● Innovative assessments provide immediate feedback to support the evaluation of knowledge and acquired skills
● Provides students with the skills needed to succeed in networking-related degree programs
PC Support Services

Innovations such as social networking, cloud computing, e-commerce, web conferencing, and desktop virtualization are changing the way we live, work, play, and learn. These capabilities are all powered by networks, and organizations around the world are experiencing a shortage of qualified ICT candidates to design, install, and manage these networks.
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of occupations in the information technology industry through the pursuit of Industry Certifications such as CompTia’s A+ Cisco’s CCENT and CCNA, and CompTia’s Server+
Course Description
CompTia’s Exam Essentials and IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software is a hands-on, career-oriented learning solution with an emphasis on practical experience to help students develop fundamental computer skills, along with essential career skills. The CompTia’s curriculum helps students prepare for entry-level career opportunities and the CompTIA A+ certification, which helps students, differentiate themselves in the marketplace to advance their careers. In addition, the course provides a learning pathway to the Cisco CCNA® Discovery curricula.
CCNA Discovery teaches networking based on application, covering networking concepts within the context of network environments students may encounter in their daily lives – from small office and home office (SOHO) networking to more complex enterprise and theoretical networking models later in the curriculum. In CCNA Discovery students learn the basics of routing, switching, and advanced technologies to prepare for Cisco CCENT and CCNA certifications and entry-level networking career.
CompTIA Server+ (Independent Study provided you have completed the A+ and CCENT) is an international, vendor-neutral certification for technical support professionals with 18 to 24 months of IT experience. Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Server+ candidates hold a CompTIA A+ certification. CompTIA Server+ certifies the technical knowledge and skills required to build, maintain, troubleshoot and support server hardware and software technologies. The exam covers virtualization, disaster recovery and security procedures
